Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord has had a notably strong season to date. Recently, he was named to the Manning Award watchlist. However, after the Orangemen’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Panthers on October 24, that list may need some rapid revisions. McCord’s performance during the game was nothing short of astonishing.

Fans Express Discontent Over McCord’s Challenging First Half

The Orangemen found themselves trailing 30-0 at halftime against Pitt.

Following a tough opening half, fans took to social media to share their displeasure.

“Kyle McCord threw three touchdown passes in just one half of play—but unfortunately, all were to the opposing team,” one user commented on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Kyle McCord truly threw three pick-sixes during the first half against Pitt. I’m relieved Ohio State no longer has to face him,” another fan noted.

“I never want to hear about Kyle McCord again,” remarked yet another supporter.

Pitt Coach Offers Honest Assessment of Syracuse QB

Before facing Pitt in Week 9, McCord had surpassed 300 passing yards in all six games played for the Orangemen this season. This achievement ties him for the most 300-yard games in a single season at the university. Furthermore, he has recorded 19 touchdown passes, placing him among the top six in the program’s history for a season.

Ahead of their game against Pitt, head coach Pat Narduzzi conveyed his belief in McCord’s NFL potential.

“Kyle McCord is an exceptional football player,” Narduzzi mentioned. “If you’re not a fan of Pitt or Syracuse, but you appreciate great quarterback play, you should definitely get your tickets because this guy is headed to the National Football League. We saw him convert on third downs the other day; I’m not sure he even throws incomplete passes, particularly on medium-yardage situations.”
