Tom Brady may be preparing to leverage his position as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Brady Reaches Out to Bill Belichick About Coaching Opportunities
Kirk Minihane from Barstool Sports reports that the former New England Patriots quarterback is looking to discuss a potential coaching role with Bill Belichick.
“Two sources have informed me that,” he stated on his popular podcast. “Two high-ranking individuals within the Patriots organization have shared this with me.”
After nearly two years of negotiations, Brady recently secured a minority ownership stake in the Raiders. The NFL’s finance committee found that the initial sale price for his stake was substantially below the team’s actual market value, causing concern among other owners regarding their franchise valuations. As a result, the purchase price was revised, allowing Brady to own a 5% share worth roughly $335 million.
Raiders Look to Rebound After Roster Updates
Brady and Belichick celebrated six Super Bowl titles during their two-decade tenure together as the Patriots’ head coach and quarterback.
This experience could be crucial for a Raiders squad currently holding a 2-4 record this season. Faced with a series of injuries and the recent trade of all-pro receiver Davante Adams, Las Vegas is seeking to rebuild its roster for competitive play.
The franchise recently announced the elevation of wide receiver Alex Bachman to the active roster, alongside the activation of wideout Kristian Wilkerson from the practice squad. Tight end Justin Shorter has also been activated from the practice squad.
Head coach Antonio Pierce conveyed optimism regarding his team despite the recent roster changes.
“We still have 11 players out there. We still have some talented football players,” Pierce noted.
“Look, some of these players have just transitioned from the practice squad, and now they need to make the most of their opportunities. You always aspire for those chances. We have to be sharp, and when they arise, we must capitalize on them.”
