Five-star edge rusher DJ Jacobs is set to announce his college commitment live on CBS Sports HQ Monday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
You can catch his announcement through the video at the top of this page, on the CBS Sports App, or through devices like Roku, Amazon Fire, and Apple TV.
Jacobs ranks as the top prospect in the Class of 2027, and he has an impressive lineup of suitors, which includes leading programs across the nation.
The standout from Roswell, Georgia’s Blessed Trinity Catholic High School is one of only nine players to achieve a five-star ranking in this recruiting cycle. While he hasn’t revealed an official list of finalists, his recent campus visits give insight into the programs he is seriously considering.
He has toured Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Texas since early November. Notably, Miami has caught his attention the most, as he made two unofficial visits there, more than to any other school.
Over the past few months, the Hurricanes have positioned themselves as a strong contender for his commitment.
Georgia has undeniable in-state allure, particularly because of key connections that could influence Jacobs before he makes his decision. He is a legacy at Georgia, following in the footsteps of his father, David, who played defensive line, and his mother, Desiree, who played basketball there.
Adding to the narrative, former Georgia coach Mark Richt is DJ’s godfather, creating a deeper bond with the program.
Whichever program secures Jacobs will gain a player who can immediately impact their defense, equipped with immense NFL potential.
“Cast-iron edge defender with the size, speed and strength to wreak havoc on Saturdays and then Sundays,” noted 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins in his evaluation of Jacobs. “Projects as a future difference-maker for a College Football Playoff contender that can set the edge and get after the quarterback.”
