After a significant wait, Aaron Rodgers has finally achieved a victory as the quarterback for the New York Jets. This success came with Sunday’s thrilling 24-17 win over the Tennessee Titans.

For the record, this victory marks Rodgers’ first in 623 days. To put it into perspective, he only played one snap last season due to a torn Achilles sustained in the opening game, which also prevented him from experiencing his first 0-2 start in the NFL.

“It was fantastic,” Rodgers, 40, shared with reporters. “It has been a long wait. These are the types of matches you look back on later in the season and appreciate winning, because to become a great team, we need to prevail in situations like this against tough opponents.”

Rodgers’ previous win was on January 1, 2023, during his second-to-last game with the Green Bay Packers. While he technically recorded a win in the Jets’ 2023 opener, it was under the circumstances of having played only four snaps before his left Achilles was injured. This marks his first complete game victory with the Jets, bringing his record to 1-1.

The four-time MVP showcased his ability in pivotal moments, leading a seven-play, 74-yard drive that culminated in rookie running back Braelon Allen’s second touchdown—a 20-yard run with 4:31 left in the game, making the score 24-17. Rodgers completed all five of his passes for 60 yards during that drive, including notable completions of 26 and 19 yards to Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams, respectively.

Regardless of the circumstances, a victory is still a victory. Now, Rodgers can officially claim his first win as a member of the Jets.
