Brandon Graham is set to make a return to the Philadelphia Eagles, adding a wealth of experience as an edge rusher to their defense. Having played a significant role in two Super Bowl-winning teams, Graham’s presence is expected to bolster the lineup considerably, as confirmed by a source familiar with the situation.
The source requested anonymity due to the ongoing negotiations surrounding the contract, which has yet to be finalized.
When approached by the Associated Press regarding his comeback, Graham enthusiastically responded with a text message stating: “Let’s go!”
A first-round draft pick in 2010, the 37-year-old Graham has secured a notable 76.5 sacks over his impressive 15-season career. Last season, he faced injuries that sidelined him for six games due to a torn triceps, but he made a remarkable return to play in the Eagles’ Super Bowl championship against the Kansas City Chiefs, even though he re-injured the triceps during the game.
One of Graham’s career-defining moments came during the Eagles’ triumph over New England in Super Bowl LII, where he executed a crucial strip-sack of Tom Brady. This pivotal play helped secure a thrilling 41-33 victory and marked the franchise’s first Super Bowl title following the 2017 season.
Currently, the Eagles, who hold a 5-2 record, recently added another veteran edge rusher, Za’Darius Smith, to their roster last month.
