As reported by Mike Garafolo, the New Orleans Saints are set to sign guard Shane Lemieux on Friday.
Lemieux had previously visited New Orleans for a workout in June, but left without a contract at that time.
Having spent last season with the Saints, there is already a level of familiarity established between Lemieux and the organization.
At 27, Lemieux was drafted in the fifth round by the Giants in 2020 after playing at Oregon. He completed the final year of his four-year, $3.64 million rookie deal.
The player faced significant injury challenges, missing all but one game in 2021 due to a knee injury and appearing in just one game in 2022 because of turf toe.
After ending the 2023 season on injured reserve with New York, he joined the Saints in 2024 but was released after preseason. He returned to the practice squad before being elevated to the active roster.
During the 2024 season, Lemieux participated in seven games for the Saints, with four of those as a starter.
